Cisco Live, Barcelona 2018

Building upon the success of our 2017 project, Kemosabe and its collaborators were tasked with delivering a bigger and more complex live, digital, social and broadcast experience at Cisco Live in Barcelona in 2018.

Such was the success of 2017 Kemosabe was tasked with delivering solutions for a number of Cisco Business units including, Cisco Champions, Cisco Customer Connection, Cisco Security and Cisco Circle.

Objective: To design and curate an integrated, authentic advocate experience at Cisco Live Europe. Amplify our customer’s company and individual success to nurture ongoing trusted relationships. Mobilise our advocates as an extension of the Cisco Live brand, through advocate led story telling.

Core project aims and results:

  • Target was to reach 2,000 advocates by August 2018 with 50% engaged and active in The Gateway, This target was exceeded at the event in January 2018 hitting 2221.
  • Recruitment to The Gateway is most effective at events. E.g. team had 40 sign-ups to The Gateway at an event of 200 attendees with just a laptop and a screen, in Barcelona we achieved 754 sign ups at the event at the Gateway Lounge.

The experience at all Cisco events has to have a certain tone and flavour – not too corporate, not too cliché

What is The Gateway? The Gateway is an online advocacy platform where all content Kemosabe creates for the Cisco advocacy program and hosting and amplified through this advocacy community.

The Environment – Kemosabe delivered an event within an event by creating a multi-zoned environment that included two purpose built inflatable structures, one acting as the Gateway sign up zone, which then led into a wellness and VIP area adjoining a conference suite for TED talks style presentations by Cisco Customers and Partners and delivered 25 talks to over registered 1,250 guests and hosted two awards ceremonies and one 1st year anniversary party for the Gateway.

The environment also had multiple broadcast areas for Social media, Live streaming, podcasts and a live studio for client interviews, show commentary and case studies. This was all supported by a unique purpose-built structure called The Content Capture Cube which delivered over 40 live streamed broadcasts and podcasts.

  • A content suite is required for guests to be interviewed and filmed ensuring their experience is bespoke and personalised
  • This will also house the Cisco Champions broadcast station

Results – Our production team led by the creative department designed and built a unique and outstanding event environment at Cisco Live in Berlin, the activation delivered over 500 new sign ups to the Advocacy Platform, which was 3 times the predicted sign up rate. The Gateway ran the social media and key client interviews on behalf of the EMEAR team on site.

So impactful was the film, the VP of Cisco Global requested our content be delivered as part of his closing keynote in the main plenary to an audience of over 5,000 delegates.
